Devilled sausages

1 tsp oil
8 sausages
1 onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed (optional)
1 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
4 Tbsp tomato sauce
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 cups water
1 apple, peeled and sliced thinly (or 1.2 a can of apple pie filling)

Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the sausages and cook over medium heat until they are golden brown. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Preheat oven 180C.
Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar and water. Add the sausages back to the pan along with the sliced apple and place in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Serve.
