Chow mein
1 dsp sesame oil
350 g meat of choice (mince could also be used)
1 large onion
4 cups mixed vegetables of choice
1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely grated
1/2 tsp Cinnamon or Chinese five spice
3/4 cup stock or water
5 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp cornflouur
Egg or rice noodles
Brown meat in preheated frying pan or wok. Remove. Add onion, then ginger, vegetables, spice, and liquid with the soya sauce.
If using egg noodles simmer these for three minutes, or soak rice noodles in cold water.
Mix soya ketchup, sugar and cornflour together, add to the pan along with the meat.
Finally add noodles and serve.
